Introduction
For the past three years, U Mat Time has grown into something truly special — a weekly rhythm for teachers across Aotearoa, offering creative, practical resources to bring joy and learning to early childhood classrooms.
We’re incredibly grateful for the wonderful kaiako who’ve joined us on this journey, and we’re proud of how far U Mat Time has come — reaching thousands of teachers, tamariki, and centres every week.
A Small Contribution That Makes a Big Difference
Starting this week, full access to U Mat Time resources will be available for a small $5 contribution per session.
$1 from each purchase will be donated to Radio Lollipop, a charity bringing joy, play, and comfort to tamariki in hospitals like Starship and Kidz First.
The remaining amount helps sustain our creative team — the teachers, designers, writers, and video creators who lovingly prepare every U Mat Time session for you.
Why Radio Lollipop?
This partnership is deeply personal to us. One of our own Utopia team members has been volunteering at Radio Lollipop for nearly two years — bringing music, games, and laughter to children during their hospital stays.
We’ve seen first-hand how powerful this work is. Radio Lollipop creates magical moments for children in tough circumstances, and we’re honoured to be able to support them through every U Mat Time session you unlock.

Your purchase helps you support children both inside and outside your classroom.
You support children, we support you.

The article presents an interesting approach to early childhood education through consistent engagement. The introduction of resources, combined with ongoing community support, reflects a commitment to both teachers and children. The concept of relying on a routine rather than solely on one-off experiences like Lucky Spins prompts a deeper understanding of how foundational trust is fostered over time. This could reshape educational practices for lasting outcomes.
What stands out is how consistency over time builds trust more than any single resource. In contexts like Boo Casino there’s often an emphasis on novelty, yet here the steady rhythm seems to be what sustains engagement. It suggests that reliability, not just creativity, plays a key role in long term impact.
